Prometheus Apps

How we use platform APIs

Prometheus Apps builds and operates its own consumer mobile apps — you can see the full list on our apps page. We are not an agency, a reseller, or an advertising platform: every app we ship is our own product, published under our own developer account.

Our business model

Our apps are free to download. We earn revenue from optional paid subscriptions inside those apps, billed through the App Store. We do not sell user data, we do not run an advertising network, and we do not provide marketing services to clients.

Google Ads API

We use the Google Ads API for internal product research only, limited to Keyword Planning Services. Before we commit to building an app, we want to know whether people are actually searching for a solution to the problem it addresses. Keyword Planner search-volume and trend data tells us how large and how seasonal that interest is, so we can decide which ideas are worth building and which are not.

Specifically, we use it to:

  • Size search demand for a topic or category before we start development on a new app.
  • Understand which phrasings people actually use, so our App Store titles, descriptions and support content match the language of the people looking for them.
  • Compare interest across the problem areas we are considering, so we prioritise the ones with real demand.

Scope and limits

  • Internal users only. Access is limited to our own team. No customer, client, or third party can reach the API through us, and we expose no product, dashboard, or feature built on it.
  • Keyword planning only. We do not create, modify, or manage advertising campaigns through the API.
  • No redistribution. We do not resell, publish, or share the data we retrieve. It informs internal decisions and appears in internal research documents only — never inside the apps our users download.
  • Bounded usage. Requests are made occasionally, when we are evaluating a new product idea, not continuously or at scale.

Other platform APIs

We use public store and platform APIs the same way and under the same limits: to understand a market before we build for it, and to operate the apps we have already published. We work within each provider’s published terms.
