Muze — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Muze ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our iOS app and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using Muze you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are

Muze is operated by Vahan Grigoryan, contactable at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the Service.

Account information (when you create an account):

Email address and a hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text) — or, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the identity and email address they share with us
A display name or "musical nickname" — required for an account, since it is the only identity shown on the leaderboard

Gameplay data (when you play):

Your score, level, streak, hint usage, and leaderboard rank
The genres and puzzles you play

Avatar photo (optional):

If you choose to upload a profile photo, it is stored on our behalf by our storage provider (Cloudflare) and linked to your account.

Technical information (collected automatically):

App version, iOS version, device model
Limited diagnostic logs (e.g. error events)

Usage information (collected automatically):

Which screens you open, and when a session starts
When you start and finish a puzzle, and when you sign in, sign out, or create an account
These events are linked to your account once you are signed in, and to a per-install identifier before that

We do not collect your contacts, location, or browsing history. Muze carries no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs — usage information goes only to our own servers, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't build an advertising profile.

3. How we use information

We use the information to:

Provide the Service (run puzzles, track your score/level/streak, show the leaderboard)
Send account emails you request (email verification, password reset)
Understand how Muze is used — which screens and puzzles people reach — so we can improve it
Maintain, secure, and improve the Service
Provide customer support
Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information.

4. How we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed:

Apple — app distribution, and Sign in with Apple if you use it
Google — Sign in with Google if you use it
Resend — transactional email (e.g. account verification, password reset codes)
Cloudflare — storage for uploaded avatar photos, plus security and content delivery

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell data to data brokers and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations.

6. Your choices and rights

Access / correction / deletion: You can delete your account and associated data directly in the app (Profile → Edit Profile → Delete Account). You may also contact us at [email protected].
Display name and avatar: You control these in Profile → Edit Profile at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.

7. Children's privacy

Muze is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Security

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure token storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, in-app.
